Built in the late 1970s, at a time before Singapore had its first McDonald's, Shaw Centre has the distinction of having its address at 1 Scotts Road. Despite this, it is not located at the start of the street, but, in fact, sits on the second lot after the more prominent Shaw House which fronts a corner of the Orchard Road-Scotts Road junction.

Despite its age, Shaw Centre has its own pull and is popular for its numerous restaurants including the well-known Les Amis, a French restaurant selected in 2007 as one of the world's top 100 eateries by Britain's Restaurant magazine.

Food aside, the complex houses an electic retail mix - some of which have been here since the beginning. You'll find tailors and shops selling anything from clothing to souvenirs to jewellery and gems.

Shaw Centre is adjacent to Shaw House and both are conveniently internally linked. They also share a common carpark accessible via Claymore Hill road. Another nearby mall featured in the map and shop listings of this page is Far East Plaza.
