Central is a mixed retail and SOHO/office development by the Far East Organization group. The retail podium is a 200k sqft mall with close to 300 shops spread over five levels. Opened in January 2007, it is one of the newer shopping venues in Singapore. Located along Eu Tong Sen Street near the junction with Market Street, the Central is conveniently situated above the Clarke Quay MRT station.
A signature theme of Central is its Miniature Harajuku. Located at LevelOne@Central, it mirrors Tokyo's three major Harajuku shopping streets of Takeshita Dori, Meiji Dori and Omotesando Dori with small but trendy independent boutiques focusing on Japanese style and fashion.
The mall is also a hub of Japanese cuisine and eateries with a selection of some twenty diverse choices. From snacks to fastfood, to ramen outlets and seafood restaurants - enough variety to tantalize and satiate any Japanese food fan.
A major nearby shopping venue around Central is Clarke Quay, a mainly F&B, entertainment and night dining area.
Via subway : Alight at Clarke Quay MRT Station (NE5) of the North-East Line. Central is directly above the station.
Via public bus : Alight at Central along Eu Tong Sen Street (bus nos. 2, 12, 33, 51, 63, 80, 174, 174e, 197). Or alight near Hong Lim Park along New Bridge Road (bus nos. 2, 12, 33, 54, 147).
Walking : The Central is the next to the Swissotel Merchant Court Hotel and within walking distance from Boat Quay / Clarke Quay, People's Park Centre, Apollo Centre and Furama City Centre Hotel.
